What is Trinity Close?

Communal open-air spaces allow residents to spend time outdoors

A joint venture partnership between Oakleigh Anglican Church and the State Government through the Department of Planning and Housing has enabled Trinity Close to offer 21 Independent Living Units for the accommodation of older people. Trinity Close provides quality housing at affordable rents. It is an expression of the Church’s care for the welfare of those people who are on low incomes and meet the Ministry of Housing criteria.

The aim of Trinity Close is to establish a caring community where residents can enjoy their lives in an environment that respects dignity and privacy. While formal nursing care is not available on site, there is the assurance of a supportive environment that consists of caring people concerned about the well being of all residents should the need arise.

Who is it For?

The Trinity Close units are available specifically to people over the age of 55 and under the age of 75 on the day of entry, who are eligible for public housing assistance and are on the current Ministry of Housing’s Waiting List.

‘I’m very happy at Trinity Close. I have spent eight years with wonderful neighbours and I thank God that there are such places as Trinity Close’
‘We are in a very central position in close proximity to church, shops and public transport’

The units are self-contained. Trinity Close comprises 19 single bedroom and 2 two-bedroom units. Each has its own separate kitchen, bathroom, laundry, living and dining area. All units are carpeted and come complete with stove and heater.

The Trinity Close units have been designed in such a way that each unit has its own private outdoor space in conjunction with adequate communal areas that provide a pleasant living environment. A warm invitation is extended to residents who wish to worship at Oakleigh Anglican church during mid-week services or on Sunday.
